NEWS ALERT - TO ALL PET DOG OWNERS
Published: 18 April 2025
This issue has been addressed with the appropriate bodies.
An incident has occurred in our community involving a dog, having been let off its lead and not under control in a public place, then strayed onto private land and fatally wounded a garden pet.
It is crucial for dog walkers to have full control over the animals in their care. Dogs must be well-behaved and respond to voice commands to ensure the safety of the public and other animals.
Please be aware that there are specific rules to follow and such an offence can result in police involvement and a CRO community resolution order.
Dog walkers are best advised to keep dogs on their leads in public places and on footpaths over private land.
Councils have by-laws to show areas where leashing of pets is required.
